Play “Backup” PS3 Games from a Hard Drive

The video above features the world’s first method of circumventing the PS3′s security to play games from a hard drive. Unlike the Xbox 360 and Wii, the PS3 has been resilient in resisting hackers’ attempts to play ripped games. The PS3 Jailbreak features a USB chip that retails for a bit over $150 but enables users to dump copies of games to their hard drives. Additionally, running the games from a hard drive will save discs from getting scratched and load games faster.

11 Super Cool Gaming PC Case Mods

When you had bought your PC gaming first, you may have liked its looks. But after having seen it in the same design for more than a year it can become boring. It becomes like a eyesore and you want to replace it with some other, better gaming PC. While you can’t buy a new PC every now and then, you can try out the mods that make your PC look new  and unique. These mods that I have collected are the best ones you can find anywhere. You will surely love most of them. So, here is the list of best Gaming PC Mods available out there. The numbering is completely random and is not based on any kind of ranking.

11. Wooden Mod

This one is for the kings. Looking at the image below, I must really appreciate the imagination of the guy who developed this. Just see see the designs and the curves given to the case, its a very nice combination of some 14th century Indian architecture and royal color of gold. The selling point is the skull coming out of the case.

10. Original PC design Mod:

Well this one looks like an Apple PC right from the late 1980’s. The really stunning wooden finish and glossy look and feel should make you feel that you are using a Apple PC which can actually run high definition games. A nice pick for the old school gamers.

9. Girl Mod:

Well what can get better than a beautiful girl standing in a bikini in front of you while you are gaming. This one is for the gamers who want an adrenaline push while you are not able to defeat a annoying boss; oh you know what I mean, right?

8. Telephone Mod:

This is really a classical incarnation of a telephone which many of you guys must have used in the early 1980’s. The real catch point is that you can actually make calls while playing games on your PC. Talk about innovation!

7. Next Gen Mod:

This one is a bit difficult to describe since the design is a bit complex. It really looks like a next generation design which really doesn’t not resemble any object whatsoever. The closest I can think of is the upper body of a BMW motorbike. Overall the look is very appealing and stunning.

6. Cold Drinks Mod:

Well we all know that cold drinks and games go hand in hand. This one is specially made for those who feel thirsty and are too lazy to get up and quench their thirst.

5. Steam Valve design:

Much like the PlayStation 3 mod we showed you a few days ago, this is again a great imagination and passion shown by the one who developed this. This is much better than the PlayStation 3 one, and its has all sorts of stuff like meters, valves, pipes etc.

4. Server Mod:

Again just like the Next Gen Mod, this one too is pretty difficult to describe. However this looks more like a server. I mean the casing and the design makes it look like one. It also resembles the robots which we used to see in our childhood. Talk about imagination!

3. Pyramid Mod:

Developed in the shape of a pyramid, this one is attractive to look at. Its value and appeal is further enlightened by the glowing LED’s different colors.

2. PC on Wheels:

Taking inspiration from trolleys, this mod will be useful for people who want to shift their gaming PC from one room to another. I mean cant you guys just carry them away? Well we are gamers and we are lazy!

1. Proton Pack Mod:

We all loved Ghost Busters right when we first saw them on television. This one is for the fans, and the really rusty looks make it feel like its proton pack for real. While it might not be developed from the same inspiration, it certainly looks close.

Marriott wants you to vacation on a virtual beach

Source: Marriott Hotels

Marriott Hotels is betting the future of travel will be, at least in part, virtual.

The hotel brand is rolling out the Oculus Rift technology at select hotel locations to enable guests to virtually explore the black sand beaches of Hawaii or the city of London.

But to make the experience more immersive, Marriott is taking things one step further by adding in sensory elements such as heat, wind and mist.

The program works like this: A person stands in a phone-booth like structure dubbed the Teleporter, puts on the Oculus Rift virtual headset and wireless headphones, and is then "teleported" to the destination.

The Teleporter has built in 4-D technology that makes it so the user physically feels different parts of the environment, such as temperature and moisture.

While Marriott claims this is the first time these technologies are being applied for a travel experience, the idea of using virtual reality for travel is nothing new.

In June, Second Life CEO Philip Rosedale said at the Singularity Finance Conference that it won't be too long before people actually purchase a virtual reality (VR) property so that they can visit it anytime they want.

Given how much momentum, there's been in the VR space this year, Rosedale's prediction may not be too far fetched.

In March Facebook shelled out $2 billion to purchase Oculus Rift's technology. And in June Google revealed Carboard, its own open-source mobile-powered virtual reality headset. Samsung recently rolled out its Gear VR headset, which is also powered by a smartphone (specifically the Galaxy Note 4), but it has tapped Oculus Rift to handle the software.

While it's become the norm for tech giants to jump into the VR space to grow their gaming and entertainment ambitions, a traditional hospitality company like Marriott Hotels may seem like an odd fit to be using the technology.

But the company sees the virtual world as a big opportunity to breathe new life into its brand and possibly even spur new business.

"It's part of our transformation message," said Michael Dail, the vice president of brand marketing for Marriott Hotels. "This isn't the Marriott you once thought of."

Dail said that while a long-term VR strategy hasn't been determined for the company, the possibilities are endless.

For example, if someone is planning a vacation, they could use VR technology to check out different destinations before booking a trip, Dail said. It could also be used in hotels to transport guests to new locations, he added.

"It can inspire their decision of where they want to go and it could also be used to enhance their stay," Dail said.

Marriott is kicking off its virtual travel experience Thursday at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, but the Teleporters will be traveling through November at select locations around the country.

"We can be disrupted to ourselves," Dail said. "We want to take things to the next level and we are thinking ahead about the future of travel."

V8 Engine Computer Case Mod

One question, which one do you pick between a real V8 engine and the following V8 engine computer case mod? Of course, both items can’t be sold. As a computer geek, I will choose the ultra cool case.

Unfortunately, there is not much more info about the V8 engine computer case modification such as its creator, its materials, making processes, and etc on the Internet. However, fortunately we have these detailed images about the computer case. From them, the case mod has two computer cases holding those internal units like motherboard, video card, and etc. The DVD drive is placed in the air intake of the V8 engine. Moreover, those blue LED lights make the computer case mod look much cooler in the dark.

By the way, don’t forget to check the Warhammer 40K Dreadnought computer case, Fallout computer case, and more via “mod” tag.
